Your Mental Wellness companion

Meet Sara Heitzman

I am Sara Heitzman, a compassionate and dedicated Registered Psychologist based in Alberta, Canada. I am a mom with two children and enjoy spending time as a family, when not working and having time to myself I enjoy walking outside, cooking and eating good food and powerlifting.

Professionally I have a commitment to fostering mental health and well-being, I specialize in providing individual and couples therapy services across the lifespan, including young adults, adults, pregnant and post-partum parents. I firmly believe that the most crucial connection a child has is with their caregivers. Therefore, my practice extends to offering parent/caregiver consults, recognizing the pivotal role they play in a child’s development. I can be described as an authentic and warm and do not take myself too seriously. I enjoy bringing humour into sessions when appropriate and strive to create a comfortable space. I know first hand that beginning therapy can be difficult and I honor that the process can be challenging.

People come to therapy for many reasons and I can support a variety of mental health concerns such as but not limited to anxiety, depression substance use concerns, difficulty with life changes, motor vehicle accidents, trauma, issues with sleep. I can complete a formal assessment regarding ADHD. Please reach out to discuss therapist client fit. Look forward to supporting you with your wellness.

Describing myself? Authentic, warm, and fun to be around. I don’t take myself too seriously, and yes, I’m that therapist who believes a well-timed joke can be the best therapy.

our office space

Accessibility

The office space is accessible by wheelchair or mobility aids, the building has an elevator to the second floor with appropriately sized doorways and accessibility buttons. In the event a client uses a wheel chair, a chair can be removed to accommodate if that is what is most comfortable.

The chairs in the space are a wider set seat measuring 25.5 inches across with a weight rating of 400 pounds and should be comfortable for most people. If you are concerned about your comfort in the space please reach out. I offer both in person and virtual appointments to help meet the needs of most people.

The physio office does have an office dog named Rick, he is a large bread who has been well trained and cared for to be in a professional space with ease. In the event the presence of a dog is a deterrent please let me know and we can explore other arrangements.
